Shortly after becoming a mother, I received a Coca-Cola Critical Difference for Women Grant from the Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at Ohio State University to curate an exhibition. The resulting exhibition, Labors, explored the complexities of motherhood while giving other mother-artists a platform to share their joys, anxieties, and traumas.
